- To prevent disabilities and physical limitations in children.
Project Description:
To finance the purchase of equipment necessary for the Juan Carlos Vela Foundation to provide more therapies to its patients.
Fundación Juan Carlos Vela is the only specialized therapy center for neuromuscular diseases and muscular dystrophy that does not belong to the public health system. There is a high demand or permanent need for children who have this type of disease.
Recovery is very slow and depends on the prolonged, permanent and constant service of therapies received.
In most cases the children need daily therapies and not only one, but two or three, this makes families unable to assume the monthly cost and the children remain in their disability or limitation.
To complement this service, they have the personnel and space to provide therapies to children with cerebral palsy, psychomotor retardation, paraplegia, hemiparesis, scoliosis, hip subluxation and other musculoskeletal diseases that cannot be resolved surgically and need rehabilitation or recovery therapies.
To support this work, this project proposes the financing of 4 machines:
- Electrostimulator
- Magnetotherapy generator
- High power laser equipment
- Tank of 12 hot compresses, hydrocollator
Project results:
To increase therapy capacity by 40% and be able to attend more children.
