Comprehensive Support for Children with Cancer

General Objective:

Location: Quito, Ecuador

To support children and adolescents suffering from cancer so that they overcome the disease and do not delay their development and education.

Specific objective:

  1. To reduce and prevent children from abandoning treatment due to lack of financial resources, condemning them to a slow and painful death.
  2. To avoid and prevent disabilities that may be caused by childhood cancer.
  3. To avoid irreversible damage or sequelae that affect the normal development of children.
  4. Improve the nutritional status of sick children and adolescents, avoiding unnecessary suffering.
  5. Decrease infant mortality.

Project Description:

The Nahuel Foundation will manage the project directly from the Quito office, for which it has carried out a thorough investigation of existing children’s oncology services, both public and private.

It is for this reason that this project will be mainly aimed at resolving or alleviating the effects of the strong therapy that the children receive, it will seek to improve their physical condition, increase the body’s defenses and guarantee a complete treatment. All this will prevent the children from missing school and delaying their learning and development.

This project will cover the cost of the necessary supplies for the application of chemotherapy (implants), medicines (if necessary), restorative and nutritional supplements, transportation, food and lodging for the children who do not live in Quito. With this, the project ensures a total remission of the disease, improves the quality of life of the children with cancer and, finally, saves the children’s lives.

Project results:

Save children’s lives with the support of nutritional supplements and have greater disease remission outcomes.

Thanks to many donations we have been able to help thousands of children since 2013.

The project was integrated in 2013 within our emerging small grants fund. This project is ongoing support and relies on donations. Help us save lives!
